As we all navigate through this unprecedented and extraordinary time, let me reassure you that ALI Group is here for you – namely our authorised brokers and policyholders.
First and foremost, ALI Group is business as usual even though we have implemented our Business Continuity Plan to ensure staff safety. Our teams will continue to work as normal to ensure a high level of support for you.
Our call centre remains open, operating in its usual hours of 9am to 6pm AEDT Monday to Friday, to answer any policyholder enquiries.
COVID-19 Death, Living and Involuntary Unemployment Benefits
Not surprisingly, policyholders are reviewing their insurance policy with us. The key questions that have been asked (and there is no way to soften this) are:
- Would a Death Benefit be payable if it’s a COVID-19 related death? The answer is YES, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
- Would a Living Benefit be payable if it’s a COVID-19 related trauma event? The answer is YES, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
- Would an Involuntary Unemployment Benefit be payable if it’s an involuntary job loss associated with COVID-19? The answer is YES, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
In short, there are no exclusions specifically due to COVID-19.
